Charterhouse Group hosted our inaugural Healthcare Summit on the 9th July at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
The Pentesec team were delighted to attend and provided knowledge and resources on the critical ways that cyber security can enable the NHS to safeguard health, protect patient data and enhance patient care.
Check Point CISO Deryck Mitchelson, Digital Transformation and Cyber Security expert, and one of the UKs ‘most influential CIOs’, delivered a talk discussing the cyber threats currently facing the UK healthcare sector.
Highlighting the risk posed by phishing attacks and the impact that cyber attacks have on patient care and well-being, as well as healthcare budgets.
It was great to see so many security professionals from the Healthcare sector in attendance, seeking to learn more about these threats and engage on wider topics such as Artificial Intelligence.
John Wintour-Pittom and Tom Boyle, two senior technical experts within their NHS Trusts also delivered a fireside chat on the impact and use cases for AI in aiding NHS Collaboration and discussed the healthcare sectors unique challenges.
The event was an opportunity to increase understanding around the large scale challenges that public sector customers such as the NHS face year on year.
With aging systems and processes in place, it can be hard for NHS staff to maintain a secure and functional environment for patients to receive care in.
By highlighting these issues, we can now promote the benefits and flexibility that modern security solutions offer over existing legacy solutions and improve patient care through enhanced communication, collaboration and data usage across the sector.
